Risk and Decision-Making

From Survival to Systems

A first note on turning a life shaped by risk, speed, and survival into a disciplined path toward aerospace, systems engineering, and long-term work.

Stephen Leakos on a jet ski in large ocean conditions during tow-in surf training.

For years, Stephen Leakos operated in environments where feedback came quickly: markets, self-employment, high-adrenaline training, and industries where timing, judgment, and consequence were hard to ignore.

The next chapter is more deliberate. It is a movement away from short-term escape and toward academic rigor, engineering discipline, and a future built around aerospace systems and space research.

This archive exists to document that transition without dressing it up as a straight line.
